What is the Symbolism of Water? by Delaina

Water may seem so simple, something we all take for granted. We drink it, swim in it, cook with it and whatever else. But today, something was different.  Something no one could quite put their finger on, but I'll give it a try.  At the 9/11 Museum and Memorial, the "pool" out front had, literally, a never ending waterfall. It kept pouring down, down, down, glittering like a set of beautiful jewels.  Names, so many of those lost and fallen, were engraved around the edge of the pool.  Maybe you don't know them, but everyone is connected by 9/11.  No one is America can deny that, I don't think.  That water symbolized that, yes, bad things happen.  Tragedy strikes and live are lost, yet we keep going, going, going. Maybe the water symbolizes that, or maybe how the victims keep living on even though they aren't physically here.  The water meant something different to almost everyone, so it's difficult to pinpoint the exact meaning. Perhaps there isn't one.  In the the sunshine, surrounded by friends, the flowing water was beautiful. Just like it was meant to be - that much I am sure of.
