Tonight was our pool party. Everyone rushed to their rooms,
tore open their bags, threw on their swimming clothes, and raced to the pool.
When I got there, everyone (or almost everyone) was already in the crystal
clear water. It looked warm so a few of us jumped right in. The shock was
nice, but the next shock…not so much. A whistle screamed, and we were all out.
Why? A broken light! Easy as that. Bummed out and dripping, we were forced back
into the lobby to wait. All of us were
milling around, talking, laughing, sitting, eating, and standing around while
we waited.
It took approximately thirty minutes for the light to be fixed, and everyone went back in the
water. I, however, did not. But standing there on the wet tiles, watching
everyone in the water, it really occurred to me how much fun we are all having.
Sure, there has been drama, but in moments like that it is all forgotten, and
all we can think of is laughing, smiling, and splashing.
